    Platform Engineer

    Location: Berlin/Germany/EU - Remote Options

    Salary: Up to €100,000 per annum

    Start Date: ASAP

    My client is the leading entertainment marketing platform that connects people with their favorite content. They are looking for an platform engineer that is all about building powerful yet simple infrastructure. Their tools shape how engineers deliver code to over 30 million users per month, and strive to make it an exceptional experience.

    Their stack consists of Golang, Kubernetes, Prometheus, ScyllaDB, PostgreSQL, and ElasticSearch, all running on the Google Cloud Platform and being configured via Terraform. You will play an integral role in shaping and evolving it.

    They are now seeking individuals with a passion for working in infrastructure and a strong drive. They highly value candidates with experience in side projects and both failed and successful startups. Their primary focus is on the energy and enthusiasm that candidates bring to the team.

    They thrive on challenging goals and constantly question the status quo. Their approach is rooted in a commitment to learning and a belief in the 80/20 rule, and they expect candidates to share this passion for common sense and pragmatism in all endeavors.

    • Enhancing their monitoring stack to track Core Web Vitals and achieving a ~30% performance boost for the homepage by reworking Kubernetes node pools.
    • Migrating their self-hosted Scylla database to Scylla cloud and planning to do the same with self-hosted Postgres instances by moving them to Google CloudSQL.
    • Exploring GitOps with ArgoCD and implementing their Prometheus Operator stack.
    • Brainstorming extensions of ChatOps, which is the primary platform through which engineering releases code.
