Responsibilities:
Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications.

Specific Duties


The PyMiCCs project is a collaborative research program at Universität Hamburg, Geisenheim University, ithaka institute and PIK Potsdam, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).

In this framework, the research associate is assigned to the following research topics:

Specific duties:
- linking own research with other partners in the PyMiCCS-project, particularly regarding model-data integration
- presentation of research at international conferences and publication of research results in relevant international journals


Requirements:

A university degree in a relevant field.
- a Master's degree (or equivalent) in Geoecology, Soil Science, Geosciences, Agriculture, Physics, Chemistry or related academic fields with special focus on soil science, terrestrial ecosystem science or climate science with very good grades
- interest in soil mineralogy, soil chemical processes and soil organic carbon stabilization mechanisms
- capacity for teamwork in an interdisciplinary environment
- fluency in English (spoken and written)
- german language skills are desirable
- experience in a programming language
