The German Cancer Research Center is the largest biomedical research institution in Germany. With more than 3,000 employees, we operate an extensive scientific program in the field of cancer research.

To strengthen our Junior Research Group "Digital Biomarkers for Oncology" (headed by Dr. Titus Brinker), we are seeking a data scientist in full
- or part-time.


Job description:


The junior research group specifically has a high expertise in the design of explainable, robust and innovative artificial intelligence solutions together with clinicians and industry to improve patient care.


In this capacity, we are looking for a motivated data scientist to join our efforts of improving outcomes for cancer patients via digital tools.

This includes addressing technical challenges scientifically.

We are a passionate 19-member group of mostly data scientists, molecular biologists and physicians (at the moment 1 urologist, 2 dermatologists) and a broad network of clinical partners from all fields of oncology.

Requirements:


  • Masters' degree in data science, bioinformatics or related fields
  • Strong motivation to improve outcomes for cancer patients
  • Fluency in English (some German would be great, but is not required)
  • Selfdependent work ethic, but also a team player
