We invite you to support us in a wide range of railway and light-rail projects in the field of control and safety technology all over the world and to contribute your customer-oriented way of working.
We are looking for a new Head of Department (M/F/d) who will drive forward and further develop the team of currently around 22 people at our Braunschweig site.
By supporting the management team, you will make a significant contribution to our further development and growth into an important service provider in this area over the next few years.
Your place of work will ideally be the above-mentioned location but can also be another German Ramboll office.You will be part of our Rail team, with about 90 employees in Germany, and about 350 employees worldwide.
In addition, there are many interfaces with the other Ramboll sectors with approximately 1000 employees in Germany and many colleagues worldwide.
In order to be successful in this management position, you should have a mix of competence and a enthusiasm for projects as well as processes in the area of control and safety technology.
You should have successfully completed a degree in electrical engineering, electronics, information technology, railway traffic engineering, mechanical engineering or a comparable course of study.

Ramboll accompanies national and international development projects in the field of control and safety technology and vehicle development.
This includes accompanying the development of safety systems for rail-bound systems as well as the safe development of new rail vehicles.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
- Departmental management throughout Germany and further development of the existing structures
- Personnel and budget responsibility for the entire department
- Acquisition and preparation of offers

- Control of personnel development in the technical area

- Successfully completed studies in the fields of electrical engineering, electronics, information technology, railway traffic engineering, mechanical engineering or comparable courses of study.
- Affinity with railbound transport
- Good professional experience in project management and leading teams
- Professional experience in the technology of railway systems and/or safety systems
- Ideally experienced in the field of technical safety as well as functional safety
- Ideally knowledge of ERTMS and CBTC systems
- Very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
- Strong communication, presentation and budget management skills
