About the role and its responsibilities

As the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our
organisation, providing strategic guidance and financial leadership to drive transformation and
financial sustainability. You will work closely with the CEO, Management Board, Co-Location Centres
and other key stakeholders - such as the Finance Committee of the Supervisory Board - to develop
and implement financial strategies, manage financial operations, and ensure compliance with financial
regulations.


Responsibilities:


Financial Strategy and Planning:
Develop and execute EIT Health's financial strategy, in alignment with organisational goals and
objectives. Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and Management Board based on financial
analysis and projections. Identify and evaluate growth opportunities, potential risks and cost-saving

Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow
statements and financial forecasts. Conduct thorough financial analysis, monitor key performance
indicators (KPIs), and present financial information to stakeholders. Ensure compliance with
accounting principles, financial regulations and reporting standards.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
Lead the annual and multi-annual budgeting process, collaborating with Directors to develop budgets
and financial targets. Monitor and analyse budget performance, identify variances, and implement
corrective actions as necessary. Prepare financial forecasts and models to support strategic decision
- making and resource allocation as well as recognizing the key drivers/downside risks/upside
potentials.


Cash Management and Financing:
Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds for mid and long-term operations.
Implement effective cash management practices, including cash forecasting, working capital
management, and risk mitigation. Seek to identify opportunities for attractive and scalable financial
returns.


Risk Management and Compliance:
Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring appropriate internal controls, policies, and procedures
are in place. Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, laws and reporting requirements.
Collaborate with EIT and external auditors, tax advisors and regulatory bodies as needed.


Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, providing guidance, mentoring, and professional
development opportunities. Promote continuous improvement initiatives, implement best practices,
and leverage technology for efficiency gains.

Required Qualifications & Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. A
Master's degree or CPA qualification is preferred.

  • Proven experience as a CFO or in a similar senior financial leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management principles, accounting standards and financial
- regulations, especially German HGB. Experience in associations is a plus.
  • Fluency in English, German is recommended.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting systems, ERP software and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate
- effectively at all levels of the organisation.
  • Substantial team ethos and the ability to inspire, motivate and nurture talent in their area

- within EIT Health.
  • High level of integrity, ethical standards, and a commitment to confidentiality.
  • Experience in health/life science sector is a plus.
  • Being prepared to travel on a regular basis across Europe.
