Research Associate (M/F/x)***starting
September 1, 2023. The position is limited until December 31, 2026. The period of
employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz

  • WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification (usually PhD).
Subject to the availability of resources, continued employment is sought.

The Dresden Institute of Automobile Engineering, comprises the Chairs of Combustion Engineering
and Drive Technology, Automobile Engineering and Vehicle Mechatronics with more than 80
employees, deal with all facets of mobility in research and teaching in intensive cooperation with
industry.


Tasks:
design, optimization, implementation and testing of novel automated driving functions with
- focus on driving maneuver control as well as longitudinal and lateral control
- support of the team in the new and further development of functions for monitoring and
- diagnosis of automated driving functions
- conception, integration, commissioning and testing of the required systems (including radar,
- lidar, camera, vehicle computer) for highly automated driving
- execution and evaluation of test drives
- conception of new measurement methods as well as setup, commissioning, stimulation and
- measurement of the systems on the test bench
- support of the project work and publication of the contents including scientific publications

and content preparation for teaching purposes.


Requirements:
university degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics or
computer science with above-average performance; very good knowledge of at least one of the
development or simulation environments ROS, MATLAB/Simulink and/or Python; profound
knowledge of control engineering as well as vehicle networking and communication (e.g. CAN); very
as confident handling of MS Office. Knowledge of vehicle localization and motion control as well as a
high interest in automated driving technologies is desirable.
