Incident & Fire Safety (IFS) Expert LG 2.1 (M/F/d)

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leadership of the Plant Incident Command Team of the Bayer AG at Wuppertal-Elberfeld as well as expert advice to the Wuppertal Fire Department in the event of medium and largescale incidents
  • Participation in the plant crisis team at Wuppertal-Elberfeld
  • Management of the "Plant Fire Department" and "Fire Protection Training Department", i.e. organization of the fire protection training for employees at the plant, research and development center and wastewater treatment plant; of the company fire department; local and site knowledge for IFS employees and members of the Wuppertal fire department
  • Leadership of employees in career group 1.2 within the framework of operational and departmental management
  • Responsibility for compliance with official requirements within the framework of emergency cases and personal operational activities
  • Planning, preparation and evaluation of major plant crisis staff and firefighting exercises (fullscale exercises) in consultation with the Wuppertal Fire Department
  • Ensuring the legally required reporting system, including incorporation of fire protectionrelevant content in the annual reports of different plant mandatory
functions

  • Professional guidance for inspections and audits by, for example, the upper state supervisory authority or the property and damage insurer

WHO YOU ARE

  • Technical or scientific studies (Dipl. Ing. or Master's degree) or longterm professional experience in the field of firefighting in operational service with a professional plant fire department or professional public fire brigade
  • Examination for the firefighter career group 2.1 (formerly higher fire department technical service) following full training, preferably at the Institute of Firefigthing NRW
  • Further specialized training courses for the performance of operational service and specialist area activities, such as industrial firefighting, operations in radioactive control areas, hazardous materials operations and leadership seminars as well as knowledge, e.g. in preventive fire protection, operations planning, etc. are an advantage
  • G2 capability
  • Driving license class C
  • Strong ability to work in a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and basic knowledge in English
