In order to support Optical Alignment Test & Lab Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a

Leader of Optical Laboratory (d/f/m):

In this role you will support the optical instrument projects in the area of coordination, engineering, and operation of optical laboratory in Ottobrunn.

You will perform optical tests and measurements in the context of the verification of instruments and critical technologies in the Optics Laboratory

You will join the team of about 20 employees for Alignment, Test and Verification for optical space instruments.

The transnational optical instruments department has a long experience in designing and building a variety of high performance spectrometers and telescopes for institutional (DLR, CNES, ESA, etc.) and commercial customers.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

You are responsible for coordination, engineering, and operation of optical laboratory in Ottobrunn
You will perform optical tests and measurements in the context of the verification of instruments and critical technologies in the Optics Laboratory incl. evaluation and reporting the TV test data
You will take care about e.g. inputs to cost/invest budgets, interface to EHS/FM site management of lab related matters, keeping all documentation uptodate
You will define concepts and designs/modifications with respect to TV-Chambers
You will provide technical support for procurement of components as well as support OGSE and optical metrology operations during instrument Assembly Integration & Test (AIT) campaigns
You will coordinate the development of software and tools required for optical tests in the lab

Desired skills and qualifications:

You have a master degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent with a initial experience in engineering
You have an extensive professional experience in space business
You have advance knowledge of programming skills in Python as well as in Tools e.g. LabView
You have very good communication skills
You are resultoriented and have the ability to work within a team
Conflict ability characterized you
You have knowledge of MS Office
Advanced english and intermediate germen skills are required
