Our primary school offers a high-quality education programme for over 260 children aged 6 to 11. It supports each student's personal, social, academic, physical and emotional development in an internationally oriented context.

In our primary school an international curriculum is used to ensure that we provide a clear and consistent curriculum that appropriately challenges the students.


Your tasks and responsibilities:


  • Create a safe and stimulation learning environment in which the students can discover and develop their intellectual, physical, social and creative potential
  • Promote the motto of our school "learning to be a citizen of the world", so that students develop the skills to think and act with openness to the perspectives, values and traditions of other cultures and communities, and thus develop an international understanding
  • Support and enrich student learning through direct support and/or intervention as required to maximize student achievement and wellbeing.
  • Support staff in understanding and responding to individual student strengths and needs for improved student achievement and wellbeing.
  • Assess students' needs using standard assessment tools
  • Develop and monitor individual education plans to support the learning of students.
  • Implement an effective support programme for students on the Learning Support Register
  • Utilise flexible models of teaching: small group withdrawal, collaborative teaching and inclass support
  • Constantly collaborate with class teachers and other members of the Student Support Service to provide a coordinated and comprehensive approach to support student achievement and wellbeing
  • Develop best practice in the primary school through sharing expertise, experience and resources
  • Work as a contributing member of the Student Support Service team and the primary school to ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place and delivered uniformly
  • Work as a contributing member of Leipzig International School to ensure a cohesive approach to learning

Your profile:


  • A qualification in Special Education
  • Valid Teaching License
  • High competency in written and spoken English
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills as well as the use of IT and new technologies
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Experience of working in an internationallyminded and diverse school community is preferred
