Purpose of the job:


  • Manage the controlling and financial reporting of projects portfolio in accordance with internal applicable rules
  • Ensure project accounting is in accordance with Company guidelines
  • Organise the project reviews of portfolio from start to the end of the contract in his portfolio
  • Ensure consistency with project teams (Planner, Sourcing,)
  • Analyse the execution performance and propose action plans to improve contract margin and cash profile as well as corrective action plans to mitigate identified risks for the portfolio
  • Manage a team of project controllers
    Key accountabilities

Management of the Project Controllers within his portfolio, including recruitment, skills, training, appraisal and allocation of resources:

Manage the Project Controllers workflow including overseeing day to day work, providing them with support and being a mentor in order for them to complete their activities and to increase their competencies and performance
:

Harmonize the way(s) and tools used to financially manage projects are followed in order to improve the effectiveness of project controlling (best practices):


  • Monitor and forecast cash flows arising from the projects,
  • Monitor and forecast revenue and gross margins arising from the projects
  • Ensure the adequate establishment of the onshore projects in conjunction with the Head of Project Controlling
  • Business or Region / local reporting unit finance team.
  • Monitor projects in execution and attending to adhoc issues relating to the projects for the portfolio under own responsibility.
  • Provide necessary support to Project Director on financial and commercial issues.
  • Assist on close out of projects and projects in warranty phase.
  • Role may also include being the nominated Lead Project Controller for a project.
  • Ensure regular project reviews are undertaken at the local unit level.
  • Validate the financial presentations and results of the projects, including ensure that reconciliations are prepared to the general ledger for all projects under execution till project close out (either done by role or ensure activity is completed).
  • Ensure that the project controlling community provide all necessary information within the unit to the financial team in order to allow it to produce accurate business reporting
