Job Family Descriptor Monitor large computer networks and servers for problems from a central location They analyze problems perform troubleshooting and incident response on the system communicate with site technicians and track problems through to resolution
Create and maintain infrastructure necessary for the growth and upkeep of field and network operations to drive network efficiency and availability
Ensure necessary coordination on certification field level testing Coordinate with the technical teams for new enhancementsissue resolution
Set up configurations number of fibre pairs in the cable capacity landing stations Manage the complete capacity distribution and traffic activation on the cable system
Track and monitor the environment performance to ensure mínimal interruption to network transmission andor network switches
Lead drive and monitor all maintenance and cost savings activities related to facilities including facility maintenance and thereby ensuring sufficient focus on optimizing cost of facility infrastructure while maintaining reliability both in terms of operations and capital investments
Manage marine cables network equipment maintenance international real estate management security operations for all sites and network ensuring adequate support for maintenance of international facilities and network at optimal costs ensuring sufficient focus on optimizing cost of facility infrastructure while maintaining reliability both in terms of operations and capital investments Broad outline of the Role

Responsible for managing day to day network operations and maintenance, in the respective areas of Network/SDWAN/Cloud and security/Unified Collaboration/Mobility and IoT/other domains.

This includes
- customer change requests, platform uptime, incident management, problem management, CFT / OEM Interlock, and escalation support for the operations. This is an operational role, responsible for delivering results that have a direct impact on day-to-day operations and capable of instructing professional or technical staff and reviewing the quality of the work undertaken by these roles. Purpose
  • Broad objective of the role

The responsibility and requirements of this position, LEAD- International Field Operations, is to provide support for the TATA Communications/its Network infrastructure which includes the following.


  • Working Knowledge Telekom technologies and Testers
  • Installation, Operations, Modifications and Maintenance of telecommunications equipment and associated apparatus. Fully supporting the achievement of Mean Time to Implement and Mean Time To Repair
  • Testing, commissioning, fault isolation and correction of circuits and equipment's. Fully supporting the achievement of Mean Time to Implement and Mean Time To Repair
  • Keeping Data Bases up to date.
  • Auditing the network and any requests related to the operation of the business.
  • Using proprietary Soft Ware Tools and Testers.
  • Basic facility maintenance (CRAC units, UPS, Generators and other general building equipment), including basic DC plant maintenance.
  • Maintenance of the terrestrial route and repeater sites
  • Serves as a point of contact with the Network Management Center (NMC), Network Operations Center (NOC) and/ or Data Center s for managing and diagnose problems through to resolution.
  • Travel is required within and outside the region/ country to assist with tasks at various sites.
  • Provide necessary support to different departments and colleagues for successful execution of stated tasks.
  • Develop technical solutions to faults and troubles and implement solutions as appropriate, ensuring that service is restored or implemented on an optimum schedule.
  • Supervise vendors and contractors installing and commissioning equipment during network upgrades.
  • Good communications skills are required, both verbal and written.
  • Balanced interpersonal style; a team player able to work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Selfstarter, able to take initiative and work with minimum direction in a fastpaced environment.
  • Welldeveloped analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to set priorities, recognize basic causes, and recommend problem solutions that meet the practical needs of the business.
  • Fully computer literate, with command of Microsoft Office software as well as technical and diagnostic programs and systems
