MSF is an independent international medical relief organisation, with 28 offices worldwide.

When large-scale epidemics occur, when areas in crisis are too dangerous for many other organisations, then our medical teams are there to assist the affected population.

We organise basic medical care, treat the injured, carry out vaccination campaigns, train local staff and build up medical infrastructure.

In long-term aid projects our teams fight diseases like tuberculosis, malaria, sleeping sickness, and HIV/AIDS.

Health Promoter

tasks and responsibilities

As a health promoter, you will work to improve health education for our projects and be responsible for the most essential prerequisite for our emergency aid: acceptance.

An essential part of your work will be improving health education in project countries.

Working together with teams on the ground, you will ensure the acceptance of our emergency aid by analyzing and understanding local cultural practices and addressing them accordingly.

You will develop information and communication strategies for medical issues, coordinate awareness campaigns and work with local communities.

You will be working closely with medical colleagues to develop and implement a health education strategy with a team of health promoters and local health service workers.

One of your primary tasks will be selecting a team for whom you will provide training and guidance. Where necessary, you will also coordinate with other NGOs and/or the Ministry of Health in the project country.

Our Requirements

  • A degree in nursing, anthropology, education, or a related field, ideally with an anthropological or ethnological focus, or respective medical field
