At our Aquatic Ecotoxicology site in Niefern-Öschelbronn (Germany), we carry out many different laboratory aquatic ecotoxicological studies to determine the environmental impact of chemicals and crop protection products, which are required for risk assessment development for worldwide approval procedures.

To strengthen our analytical chemistry department specialized in aquatic ecotoxicology, we are looking for an


expert chemist /analyst or food chemist (f/m/d) as Study Director REACH in full-time or part-time (min. 50 %)
who enjoys interdisciplinary work.


Job Description:


  • You will coordinate projects/studies on risk assessment of chemicals (e.g., REACH substances) and protection products in close cooperation with the analytical chemistry and biology teams.
  • You will develop and validate new extraction and analysis methods, especially for complex substances (e.g., waterinsoluble, unstable, volatile), where each new study offers a pleasant variability and challenges.
  • As a Study Director or Principal Chemist, you will carry out the chemicalanalytical part of aquatic ecotoxicological studies.
  • You will work under the Principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) to ensure complete documentation of all processes, so that everyone has an overview of your studies.
  • At the end of a project, you will write and issue study reports in English, for submission and regulatory approval of chemicals or plant protection products.
  • You will be in constant contact with internal and external customers to establish and maintain numerous close relationships.

Qualifications:

You fit in best with us if you...
- have successfully completed a scientific degree in chemistry or related fields and have previously gained at least 3 years of laboratory experience.
- have in-depth knowledge of analytical equipment such as GC-MS/MS and HPLC-MS/MS.
- have advanced knowledge in the field of analytical chemistry of problematic substances (e.g., insoluble in water, unstable, volatile).
- are independent, structured, meticulous but have a pragmatic way of working
- are enthusiastic to learning
- have a very good command of English

  • German skills (spoken and written) would be advantageous but can also be learned
