At Evotec's headquarters in Hamburg, Germany, the
_Protocol Development_ team within the
_iPSC _department is looking for a highly motivated, creative and passionate

Research Associate (all genders)

Stem Cell

Full time and permanent

Your key responsibilities:

Develop novel technologies and biochemical assays centered around human pluripotent stem cells and their progeny in the area of neurodegenerative diseases
Develop and execute stateof the art genome engineering of human iPSC and iPSCderived neural cell types (microglia, astrocytes, neurons)
Establish working routines at the SOP level for the general handling, manipulation and differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells
Scientifically lead and support iPSCbased projects drug discovery projects
Maintain an awareness of cutting edge technical developments and scientific knowledge to improve project performance
Assume line management responsibilities of a team of research assistants or research associates; including performing appraisal interviews, mentoring and supporting the development of your direct reports
Work collaboratively with project teams and customers to meet defined goals in time
Deliver documents, technical reports and presentations in an accurate and timely manner
Coordinate project activities with high level of independence and present to both internal and external parties

Your ideal qualifications:

PhD in Biology or other relevant field
Work experience in the industry is ideal
Profound knowledge and handson expertise of maintaining, manipulating, and differentiating human iPSC in the area of neuroscience
Experience in CRISPR based editing of human iPSC and screening using iPSCderived neural cell types
Experience in managing and mentoring junior staff
High level of motivation, initiative, flexibility, and ability to work well in a crossfunctional team
Excellent communication & people skills
Ability to work independently
Good command of the English language both written and spoken
