As the HR Business Partner for Europe and State Street Bank Intl GmbH, and a member of State Street's Global Human Resources & Corporate Citizenship (GHRCC) Operating Group, this role will oversee all GHR country head roles across Europe and will be based in a SSBI country (Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Poland, France, Netherlands).

You will have responsibility for managing a global team of experienced HR professionals across various human resources disciplines with responsibility for setting and executing the region's overall human capital strategy.

This includes a focus on maximizing employees' potential, ensuring the ability to attract, develop and retain the right talent, overseeing the employee experience and shaping the culture.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for service delivery provided by GHR functions including Centres of Excellence (COEs) across Europe and all branches of the SSBI.

The HR Business Partner for Europe and SSBI will have a reporting line into the EVP, CEO of State Street Bank Intl GmbH and the Global CHRO.


Responsibilities:


  • In partnership with the appropriate global human resources Centers of Excellence (GHR COE) develop a talent strategy and execute multiple initiatives to drive business success, with a focus on attracting, retaining, and developing talent and leadership in the region.
  • Lead a team of human resources country head roles across Europe ensuring coordination and alignment with COEs as well as country head executives.
  • Represent the GHR function in relevant governance bodies and as an extended member of the SSBI Management team towards the Management Board of SSBI and will have a specific focus on ensuring full regulatory compliance of all GHR activities within the Legal Entity
  • Key member of the Senior Management team of SSB Intl GmbH and Identified Staff / Risk taker for the entity.
  • Function as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on important talent issues. Coach, mentor, and guide leaders in Europe on organizational effectiveness.
  • Support senior leadership in developing a culture of diversity and inclusion and promotes the State Street values.
  • Mitigate risk by ensuring employment processes, practices and procedures are compliant with STT policies, risk, and governance with a focus on European employment laws and regulations.
  • Provide data and analytics to support business insights and decisions. Seek and share people related market trends and competitor intelligence.
  • Represent the GHR function in relevant governance bodies and responsibility for regulatory compliance of all GHR activities within Europe.

Role Qualifications & Experience:

  • 15+ years of progressive HR experience in HR strategy development, organizational development, compensation and/or talent acquisition within a large and dynamic organization.
  • Technical/functional HR expertise developed through extensive, senior experience across the broad spectrum of HR disciplines.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute HR strategy which supports business goals and objectives.
  • Strong commercial acumen, preferable in the financial services industry.
  • Proven people management skills. Ability to lead, develop and build large, multifunctional HR teams.
  • Deep understanding of European Regulations in the field of remuneration, IVV and other relevant rules and standards
  • Experience in working and cooperating with local and European works council and representing the entity and senior management in related committees and meetings.
  • Practical experience in managing relationships with regulators (preferably BaFin, EBA)
