Job Description


As the Head of HR for SSB Intl GmbH, the incumbent will be responsible for service delivery provided by GHR functions including Centres of Excellence (COEs) across Germany and all branches of the SSBI Intl GmbH Bank.

The incumbent will represent the GHR function in relevant governance bodies and in particular as an extended member of the SSBI Management team towards the Management Board of SSBI and will have a specific focus on ensuring full regulatory compliance of all GHR activities within the Legal Entity.


The Head of HR has a reporting line into the EVP, CEO of SSB Intl GmbH and the SVP, Senior HR Business Partner, International.

The Head of HR ensures the delivery of quality service across the full suite of GHR offerings.

She/he covers the members of the Executive Management Board of SSB Intl GmbH as their local GHR Business Partner and is in close cooperation with the respective regional and global HRBP who will be the key HR contact for the respective client group.

The role provides the SSBI context to key stakeholders across GHR globally.

She/he will build in-depth relationships with clients and relevant corporate partners (e.g. Heads of Legal, Compliance, Audit), interact on a regular basis to understand needs and challenges of the business and ensure strategic people plans and solutions are aligned to targeted business plans.


She/he will be responsible for managing the GHR input for relevant meetings of the supervisory board and it's sub-committees and will lead the talent management, succession planning, performance management and year-end compensation and promotion processes for all employees of the legal entity.

This requires close coordination and interaction with group functions and the respective leaders.


The Head of HR is a key member of the Senior Management team of SSB Intl GmbH and Identified Staff / Risk taker for the entity.

The incumbent is a frequent / regular guest on the EMB and joins the Remuneration Committee and the Nomination Committee (sub-committees of the Supervisory Board).


Role specifics:

  • Partners with senior SSBI executives and managers to translate corporate strategy into GHR priorities and actionable goals, ensuring individual and business unit goals are aligned with organizational goals.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships within the HR function to promote the SSBI context, tap into global expertise and resources and execute against STTs human capital strategy (tailored as needed for SSBI)
  • Partner with HR COEs and HRBPs to create client solutions that deliver against SSBI talent goals. Ensure a 'one GHR' experience for the client.
  • Advise executives and line managers on organisational management and structure.
  • Provide continuous feedback to business unit leadership as well as other areas within GHR on a range of business and GHR topics.
  • Support talent acquisition, workforce planning, key talent identification, development, reward and succession planning processes.
  • Partner with business unit leadership and GHR to drive diversity initiatives.
  • Support the effective resolution of complex and escalated employee relations issues.
  • Work in partnership with clients to identify talent issues before they affect the business.
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance of all GHR activities by assessing impact of planned product launches or process changes and by providing proactive input into product and process design across all COEs.
