The Role
For our
Global Sensory team in
Hamburg, we are looking for a
Senior Researcher Sensory Consumer Science (M/F/d)

What are your major duties?

  • Key Sensory contact for internal and external stakeholders for defined product categories
  • Assume responsibility for specific projects crosscategories
  • Knowhow transfer of learning and consultancy regarding appropriate Sensory options towards external and internal stakeholders
  • Interface between consumer perception and client needs (Marketing, Manufacturing) from a sensorial market perspective
  • Methodology transfer to and training of agencies to conduct standardised Sensory research
  • Initiation, implementation, review and optimisation of new consumer research tools/nonstandard methodologies in close collaboration with research manager
  • Supervision and/or lead of all market related screenings and benchmarking
  • Supervision of sensorial research designs for qualitative and quantitative product and consumer research
  • Leading, designing and conducting consumer research in the dedicated consumer centre facility. Being a first point of interaction for consumers coming into the centre and facilitating research
  • Utilise validated 'product' insights to inform and support key clients and to identify trigger for product performance
  • Control budget for defined areas of responsibility and provide transparency of requirements at all times
  • Responsible to keep uptodate with advancements in Sensory Science and adaption for business requirements/needs (in line with business objectives), share learnings and trigger change
  • Potential lead and development of team, initiating activities according to aspirations and business needs

Who are you?

  • University grade in Sensory, Food Science, Social Science or equivalent
  • Several years' experience in sensory product and market research and interaction between product & consumer
  • Fluent English in writing and speaking
  • High level knowledge of statistical analysis and methods of market research
  • Excellent PC knowledge (Microsoft Office & SAS/SPSS, XLStat)
  • Excellent analytical thinking and project/stakeholder management skills
  • Familiar with tobacco products
  • Excellent team working skills
  • Curious, flexible and organised way of working and ability to handle several projects at the same time
  • Task prioritisation
