At Bielefeld University, you have the opportunity to contribute to the development of a modern faculty of human medicine. Teaching at the Faculty of Medicine at Bielefeld University has started in the winter semester 2021/22 with a study program in Human Medicine (reform curriculum). A specialization in Molecular Medicine will also be offered. The Department for Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine investigate cell biology and pathobiochemistry of rare diseases (esp. peroxisomes and dysferlin) and the endogenous and therapeutic translational readthrough.
Your Tasks

-
Profile 1:

Conception and execution of research projects on peroxisomes, translational readthrough, or dysferlin
Scientific supervision of PhD students and undergraduates
Teaching (seminars, lab courses)

Profile 2:

Planning and implementation of laboratory experiments for students of human medicine
Cooperation in research projects of the working group
Planning and preparation of innovative teaching formats and implementation of seminars, teaching as well as taking exams
Support in the development of the curriculum

Your Profile

We expect

University studies in life sciences (biochemistry, biology, life sciences, molecular medicine, human biology or similar) or medicine
Teaching experience, especially in the field of biochemistry, e.g. in supervising master theses or internships
Willingness to take part in professional and didactic training
Ability and willingness to work in a team and independently
Gender and diversity competence
Preferred experience and skills
Research experience in biochemistry, molecular cell biology or molecular medicine on one or more of the following topics: Cell organelles, rare diseases, protein biochemistry, lipid metabolism, RNA biology, iPSC (profile 1 only).
Teaching experience in biochemistry and skill in designing teaching materials didactic knowledge (profile 2 only)
German language skills fluent to business fluent (profile 2 only)
