European region, Oxford Economics opened its first office in Germany in 2015 and is continuously looking to expand the team.

As such, we are seeking to hire an Intern for the Business Development team for the assigned territory.

This person will be responsible for the sales support of the team, lead generation and the set-up of and attendance of meetings within the assigned territory.

The position will be an integral part of Oxford Economics' growth plans for Continental Europe and provides an exciting opportunity to be part of a young and dynamic team, with potential to join the company full-time after the study program has finished.


The key responsibilities within this role are as follows:

  • Through market analysis, identify key companies in the territory, key individuals within companies and build leads and sales lists with contacts to support the Business Development Team
  • Organise meetings for the Business Development Managers and where appropriate attend
  • Support sales campaigns and events designed for Oxford Economics clients and prospects
  • Search leads and new prospects via internet sites such as LinkedIn and more
  • Assist the team to ensure targets are met and upselling opportunities are realized
  • Develop a basic knowledge of the service products
  • Support the maintenance of internal CRM tools

Skills and Experience:


  • Student, ideally within a relevant field (economics, business, finance, marketing) but not mandatory
  • German or English native speaker and fluent / bilingual in German/English (other language skills such as Polish, Czech, Dutch etc. could be a plus)
  • An interest in sales and business development previous experience gained during internships or first work experiences preferred however not required
  • Interest in economics, financial markets and current affairs
  • Must be highly organized and able to manage multiple projects at once and self sufficient
  • Must be a team player
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Further Information:


  • The internship would ideally last 612 months, but can also be for a shorter period, depending on the student's availabilities
  • The internship can start as soon as possible
  • Considering the current circumstances, we would be happy for the intern to work in a hybrid fashion. If they would like to move to Frankfurt, we can help guide them in terms of accommodation, providing resources and suggestions, but it would be mainly up to the student to find and fund their own accommodation
  • The internship is compensated to cover the basic cost of living
  • EU nationality is required and fluent German is a plus
  • Ideally the student should be enrolled and will need to provide proof of health insurance
