The professorship for macroeconomics represents all sub-areas of macroeconomics (e.g., monetary and fiscal policy, open economies, financial and labor markets) in research and teaching.

We offer an open-minded and collegial environment in which we combine modern quantitative macroeconomic models with statistical and econometric methods (microeconometric and time series) and place value on contributing to scientific and economic policy discussions.

We cooperate nationally and internationally with various research institutes and economic policy institutions. We are looking for an ambitious early-career researcher to strengthen and support our team.


Job description:


  • Research and teaching in the field of macroeconomics

  • Presentation of research results at international conferences
  • Active participation in the macroeconomic groups at FU and the Berlin School of Economics
  • The position offers the postdoctoral fellow the opportunity to gain further academic
qualifications.


Requirements:


  • Successfully completed PhD in macroeconomics

Desirable:


  • Profound research skills and strong research potential demonstrated by an excellent
dissertation in the field of macroeconomics

  • Research and teaching experience in macroeconomics, ideally in the field of monetary and
fiscal policy, labor, international macroeconomics, business cycles, and growth

  • Expertise in the numerical implementation of quantitative macroeconomic models and
microeconometric data analysis

  • Publication experience
- (First) experience in the acquisition of external funding

  • Organizational skills, commitment, and flexibility
  • Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
  • A good command of German is an advantage (but not a prerequisite)
  • Ambitious, reliable, diligent, independently working, and friendly team player
