- thinking Software Tech Lead to join our Pro-Audio Team who will work closely with the Product and Engineering teams, to help define our software development strategy and help deliver our next generation of studio monitors and other products and services.


What you'll be doing:

As we expand our Delivery Engineering department, this role plays a crucial part in forming a new technical leadership team.

You'll be instrumental in defining the interface between waterfall
- driven hardware development and complex agile software delivery, while also establishing the necessary software development strategy to execute our product roadmap.

You will be collaborating closely with the Research, Product Management and wider Engineering teams and supporting early product definition and prototyping as well as the development of products through to market launch and feature updates and maintenance for established products.

You'll promote and implement DevOps practices and collaborate closely with the Group Platform Team to optimise our infrastructure and tools.

For each software product you will work with the Product Management and Engineering teams to understand the customer and the required features, capturing the requirements to deliver them, and defining the appropriate architecture and design.

You'll balance good development practice and ROI across a roadmap of products and product ranges, collaborate with other architects and developers across the Focusrite Group on shared technology initiatives, and share learning and improvement ideas between teams.

- ... experienced in writing and reviewing code, to maintain the quality of the codebase.
- ... able to guide the use of appropriate development methodologies such as peer review, test driven development, unit testing and automation.
- ...knowledgeable in approaches to robust SW design e.g requirements/backlog capture, storyboarding, documentation.
- ... able to participate in hiring engineers, to support interviews, and to refine job descriptions.
- ... interested and inquisitive about audio and acoustics.
- ... comfortable working in spoken and written English. German language is a plus.
