About Ascend:
Ascend is a new model for gene & cell therapy design, development, and manufacturing. We partner with ambitious biotechnology teams to embed scalable manufacturing in their operations from the beginning. We support manufacturing and process development projects from design through to clinical and commercial scale.

Requirements:

Production of recombinant gene therapy AAV on a benchtop scale using Ascend's own process platform (USP)
Development of new processes for the production of rAAV with eukaryotic cells in suspension cultivation systems
Carrying out processrelevant analysis to determine the qualitative and quantitative properties of the rAAV produced through characterization of samples (e.g. ELISA, qPCR, SDS-PAGE, DLS)
Independent planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of experiments
Trains and technically supervises other TAs
Write and collate experiment data and reports as well present them
Creation of work instructions and protocols and other relevant technical documents
Assumption of device responsibilities as well as general tasks to maintain daily laboratory operations

Requirements:

Completed training to become a BTA, MTA, CTA, ATA, chemical laboratory assistant, Bachelor of Science (B. Sc) or comparable qualification
You have indepth practical experience in the field of eukaryotic cell culture in the bioreactor
You have already worked on the production of recombinant viral vectors on a laboratory scale
Routine handling of molecular biological and protein biochemical techniques such as qPCR, ELISA, SDS-PAGE
Pronounced quality awareness and organizational talent with regard to the planning, implementation and documentation of experiments
You have a good command of English and a good command of MS Office
The attitude that big goals can only be achieved as a team
The motivation to contribute through your own work to make gene therapies accessible to patients
