Germany Advocacy Coordinator (f/m/d)

The Global Advocacy & Influence Department is a dynamic team that uses the power of IRC's ideas to solve the biggest challenges facing IRC's clients.

From the drivers of conflict to the needs displaced people, the team partners with politicians, policy makers and civil society to bring these solutions to life.

As Germany Advocacy Coordinator, you are responsible for crafting influence strategies to guide IRC's political advocacy in Germany, using IRC's programmatic and research evidence, surgical policy and practice solutions, and trusted brand to inspire collective action.

Your research and writing skills make you a go-to teammate for understanding current legislative and policy trends in Germany and how our policies support tor clash with political agendas.

You contribute your fresh insights and analysis to inform IRC's influence approaches, tactics, and messages.


Major Responsibilities

Strategy:Support the development and implementation
of advocacy strategies, collaborating with P&S and A&I teams, to advance IRCs key influence priorities and maximize the opportunity for IRC to advance our influence objectives.

Influence Analysis:Support the development of power maps for key advocacy issues to identify influence priorities and opportunities for IRC in Germany. Support development and execution of influence strategies, including with peer organizations and nontraditional partners, encouraging IRC to develop new approaches to advocacy as usual. Track and report on influencing initiatives and their impact and harmonize IRC advocacy outreach using digital stakeholder management tools.

Advocacy:Support efforts to build IRC's credibility, profile and relationships by developing and disseminating high quality advocacy products, including policy positions, briefings and other support materials for high-level meetings, and other materials for internal and external use as agreed. Support conceptualization and implementation of advocacy initiatives towards politicians and policy makers in the German parliament and ministries (e.g. GFFO, BMZ), with support of the Germany Advocacy Director. Develop and maintain relationships with representatives of humanitarian organisations based in Germany, members of the German parliament and their staff and members of German ministries.

Policy Contextualization:Provide
research and insights into the German context and implications for communicating and disseminating our global policies and solutions. Adapt global messaging for more effective advocacy in the German context.

Communications:Draft and/or edit
communication messages to be used for advocacy, influence and profile in collaboration with the Germany Comms Team. Support execution of strategic activities including events.
