The Institute of Highway Engineering Aachen stands for a sustainable and digital transport infrastructure. As a research institution, we therefore focus on the development and use of modern technologies and processes.

Accordingly, one of the institute's current focuses is on the use of machine learning algorithms and computer vision methods for the digitalization of traffic and infrastructure.

For the digitization research group at the institute, we are looking for creative, independent students who will help shape the future of research in this field within the framework of exciting project and who help in the handling of a course related to this topic:

Projects that you would be working on are for example SMARt, AdaptIn, 5URVIVE or SmarteAmpel
Help in teaching
Intended minimum duration of the engagement: 2 years

Your Profile:

Student at a university or university of applied sciences majoring in computer science, electrical engineering or a closely related course of study
3rd semester Bachelor or higher
Knowledge of programming with Python
Knowledge in the area of Machine Learning
Independent and reliable way of working
Good knowledge English, German advantageous

Your Duties and Responsibilities:

Programming support for the scientific staff in research projects
Independent processing of partial aspects of the programming tasks at hand
Help in teaching

What We Offer:

The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term of initially 3 months.

Further employment is being sought.
This is a part-time contract position.
The standard weekly hours will be 8-12 hours.
The salary is based on the RWTH Guidelines for Student and Graduate Assistants.
The position corresponds to a pay grade of 13.00 € per hour.
