- first you get familiar with our state-of-the-art hyperspectral cameras and learn about "data cubes", "hyperspectral cubes", "spatial scanning", "spectral scanning" and "snapshot imaging"
- you independently do hyperspectral measurements on different materials and optimize the parameters of the measurement setup for the respective material to be examined
- the focus of your work will be the analysis of the acquired data with different modeling tools and with regard to relevant quality parameters (e.g. material properties) as well as the creation of best suitable evaluation algorithms

Finally, a comparative evaluation of the achievable reliability of used evaluation methods should be carried out

What you need to make real what matters.

You are interested in optical spectroscopy, chemical imaging, chemometrics, or related areas of physics, chemistry, or electrical engineering
You are familiar with data analysis methods and statistical modeling techniques, ideally together with spectroscopy or chemometrics
You have already gained initial experience in using data analysis tools and writing your own code for data analysis, e.g. in Matlab or Python
Initial practical experience with optical measurement setups and measurement technology in general is an advantage
You have very good German or English language skills
