Munich Re Facultative & Corporate (F&C) is responsible for all our business written globally as facultative reinsurance or direct insurance in the lines Property, Engineering, Energy, Casualty, Cyber and New Risk Solutions.

We focus on complex single risks for corporates (annual turnover over €/$500m, industrial projects over €/$100m), and offer facultative capacity.

Your job

  • Assuming facultative underwriting responsibility for large corporate risks ceded by global clients of Munich Re or offered by reinsurance brokers; including all tasks associated with risk and coverage analysis, pricing and contract negotiations in line with Munich Re guidelines
  • Development of a profitable portfolio of cyber related business, exploiting new business opportunities through active management of broker and client relationships with a particular focus on knowledge exchange and market shaping activities;
  • Proactively contribute to strategy building and consistent positioning during the market cycle as a basis for growing our portfolio in a sustainable and profitable way while establishing Munich Re as a reliable, responsible and knowledgeable partner for clients and brokers
  • Negotiating reinsurance terms and conditions in line with F&C strategies and risk appetite and in cooperation with Client Management teams
  • Attend client and marketwide cyber meetings, discussing and evaluating client's individual cyber exposure
  • Provide training, quality assurance and technical guidance to other underwriters in the F&C Cyber Munich team
  • Lead challenging global projects with other Cyber teams and central interfaces
  • Ensure close cooperation and collaboration with other F&C Cyber teams to maintain one global F&C Cyber Solutions strategy and allow for a consistent approach to all markets
  • Promote F&C/Munich Re's capabilities in the area of Cyber in client and broker meetings, conferences and market events

Your profile

  • University degree in IT or Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Law or equivalent qualification with several years of professional experience
  • Several years of cyber underwriting experience
  • Excellent understanding of cyber security, cyber risk management and cyber risk mitigation
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with insurance clients, brokers and internal stakeholders
  • Solutionbased work approach and a collaborative and team minded work attitude
  • Ability to contribute on strategy and developing market issues
  • Willingness to travel
