Job Summary:
In this role the job holder will supervise the R&D Laboratory including a team of lab technicians to ensure timely execution of laboratory orders and assist the R&D organization to perform chemical, physical, and functional investigations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise a test laboratory according to current legal laboratory guidelines in compliance with all safety and qualityrelevant processes
- Management, development, and supervision of assigned Technical Supports to optimize their support of research and development projects
- Collaborate with global R&D teams on the development and implementation of LIMS software, procedures, and safety initiatives
- Planning and timely execution of lab orders, including communication of results
- Planning and control of laboratory costs, e.g. consumables, supplies, maintenance contracts, external orders and others
- Review and verify of accuracy of test results from Technical Supports
- Support for cooperation projects with external testing laboratories and institutes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, material science, chemistry or related science preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of laboratory related experience with preferred experience in pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry
- Knowledge in cGMP, DIN ISO 15378 and DIN ISO 9001 specifications
- Experience in data processing such as statistical analysis and knowledge in materials testing
- Desirable knowledge in project management of international teams/projects and external suppliers
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English and German
- Decision making and problemsolving mentality
- Must be able to work under time constraints & in crossfunctional teams
- Highly motivated and multitasking multidisciplinary teams in an international environment
