Chemist - PE Product Development Specialist (M/F/d)**
Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Translate Business Application needs into new polymer recipes, evaluate polymers made on autoclave, pilot level and from plant trials, to compare them to incumbent solutions and support R&D activities aligned with corporate strategy, especially in field of Circular Economy and Sustainability.

Development of new and sustainable products, based on a very good understanding of structureproperty relationships of polymers, especially polyethylene, in close interdisciplinary collaboration with other departments such as catalyst development, process development and analytical lab
Evaluate the scaleup capability of pilot plant materials into an industrial plant in close collaboration with manufacturing to ensure industrial scalability of polymeric materials
Identify opportunities for novel and innovative product development for new and circular products and proactively promote, present and discuss them and interpret the results
Actively interact with the Polyolefins Business and Technology Business to drive new developments and ensure they are aligned with corporate strategy and plant capabilities
Preparation of competitive analyses on products, technologies and their market positioning
Training of staff in technical, qualityrelated and safetyrelated topics
Collaboration on overlapping research topics with our R&D sites in Italy and the U.S.
Creation and support of filing new patents

Qualifications

PhD in Chemistry, Physics or Material Science or Chemical Engineering or equivalent qualification, with focus on polymers
Many years of experience in the development and characterization of polymers
Good knowledge of structureproperty relationships
Problemoriented work style and analytical thinking with a high degree of proactiveness and commitment
Ability to manage complex interfaces and a diverse spectrum of internal customers
Good resource management and project management skills
A pronounced sense for the needs of internal and external customers
Strong interpersonal skills
Team Player
Excellent verbal/written communication skills
Fluent in English and German, written and oral
