Your Mission


The main purpose of this job is be to help the test engineers build the test stand for Isar Aerospace' s liquid rocket engine and set up a workshop close to the test bench.

As soon as test operations begin, the Test Bench Mechanic will support the test
- and propulsion engineers to conduct their test campaigns on rocket engine prototypes and subsystems thereof.

  • Installation and maintaining workshop and mechanical installation of any kind
  • Responsible for technical documentation of the facility
  • Control of work for subcontractors for workshop and other areas
  • Implement and followup occupational safety at the workshop areas
  • Support test bench/facility operation and optimization in cooperation with other departments
  • Component manufacturing
  • Support construction works; maintenance of the machinery; device design and construction
  • Evaluating test results
  • Take over group leadership for some temporary projects, be a project owner

Who you are and what you have

  • Successfully completed degree as mechanical engineering technician or similar (e.g. Handwerksmeister)
  • At least 2 years of work experience in the field
  • Competences with the following: sawing, drilling, milling, turning, welding, maintenance, pipe bending, handle cutting ring fittings
  • Experience with gases, industrial installation and maintenance of facility


  • Valid driving license

  • Class B
  • Fluent English, German is highly preferred
Nice-to-have

  • Professional experience in the areas of cryogenic test series, thermal and thermal vacuum test series, vibration or shock
  • Licenses forklift, crane, manlift, wheel loader
