Tasks and responsibilities

  • Establish and actively contribute to projects in the area of cancer signaling and cell regulation
  • Employ and drive technology development for the analysis of (sub)proteomes with increased specificity, sensitivity and throughput
  • Perform sample preparation procedures, MS measurements and data analysis in an independent manner
  • Proactive role in planning and monitoring of projects, and in liaising with collaborators
  • Active involvement in reporting and dissemination of results at conferences and in publications

Prerequisites PhD degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or equivalent, with a focus on proteomics, and documented in first-author publication(s)

  • MSc degree in (analytical) chemistry, biochemistry, or equivalent
  • PhD in one of the life sciences with a focus on proteomics
  • Excellent trackrecord in the field of proteomics
  • Ample experience in mass spectrometrybased proteomics, including sample preparation, and handson use of modern mass spectrometers and Nano/UHPLC systems
  • Experience with stateoftheart proteomic workflows, including MS acquisition (e.g. DDA, DIA, PRM) and data analysis with various software tools
  • Analytical mindset, with a keen interest in advancing proteomic methodologies
  • Knowledge of cancer biology
  • Openminded and enthusiastic team player, with strong communication skills to efficiently interact with internal and external collaborators across disciplines
  • Proper command of English
  • Computer literacy and programming skills are a plus
