System Administrator for AI-Compute-Infrastructure (all genders):

As System Administrator for AI Infrastructure you will play a key role in building and maintaining large AI compute infrastructures of hessian.

AI. As part of a team, you will be responsible for the operation, optimisation and further development of hessian.
AI's IT infrastructures.

The focus of your work will be the construction, operation, maintenance, care and further development of AI and cloud infrastructures for the centre and the automation and orchestration solutions based on them.

This includes ensuring ongoing operations, testing new tools and frameworks, advising and supporting users, and developing and documenting best practices.

Other aspects include the integration of existing digital infrastructures for science, e.g. for user administration, data and network management, and support in planning, procurement and implementation processes.

Your profile

You have completed training as an IT specialist or have an equivalent qualification and ideally have several years of professional experience in the relevant environment.
You have gained practical experience in at least three of the following areas:
Administration of large infrastructures based on open-source frameworks such as OpenStack, Terraform, Rancher, or similar.
Experience with Docker, Singularity and/or Kubernetes
Experience in automation with Ansible and/or Terraform
Experience in the operation of batch systems such as Slurm or LSF
Experience in the management and operation of highly available parallel storage systems
You have very good practical knowledge of Linux.
You have practical knowledge of Python or a scripting language.
You show initiative, team spirit and are motivated to deal with new concepts and techniques and to continuously develop yourself.
You enjoy working in a dynamic, scienceoriented and interdisciplinary environment.
You have a good command of German and English, both written and spoken.
