Your role:


In this important global role within our Clinical Operations & Program Design (CO&PD) department, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the necessary analytics tools and associated data for the assessment of performance, pricing, and other operational data within our clinical project portfolio.

You will work in close collaboration with other multiple groups within Development Operations, including clinical and finance. These tools and analytics will drive and support adherence to best-in-class performance and budget metrics.


The position will support process and system development to increase the productivity and effectiveness of internal and external customers of CO&PD, through development of business solutions targeted specifically to the needs of the Clinical Development Organization.


This role will interface with our Preferred Partners in both the GDO and Regional Clinical Operations Commercial Models to further develop consistency in tools utilized and to develop and maintain internal business intelligence on the competitive landscape to inform internal decisions on appropriateness of cost proposals received from our service providers.


The role will provide training and ongoing support to all users of the tools & data and will generate required reporting for the GDO Management Team and Executive Leadership Team.

In addition to the technical requirements a detailed knowledge of the clinical research process and associated budgeting and contracting activities will be a key attribute of the individual in this position


Who you are:


  • Bachelor's or master's degree in sciences, medical, or business administration
  • A minimum of 10 years in R&D and/or drug development in the biotech/pharma or CRO industry.
  • Full understanding of the development and oversight of clinical trial budgets/contracts
  • Indepth understanding of the endtoend clinical research process
  • Experienced VBA Programmer and s trong skills in database design and management (SQL)
  • System design, development, and maintenance to support CO&PD deliverables.
  • Design, develop, document, and provide quality assurance of new systems.
  • Define technical requirements, database structure and database environment.
  • Perform complex analysis of sourcing data to ensure control and adherence to negotiated Commercial Models
  • Ability to work in externally available commercial databases to support role.
  • Work with other departments to develop tools that will support their need for cost and other data from the company's service providers.
  • Provide ongoing training on existing and new databases and other systems developed by the group.
  • Support LEAN processes and continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for the appropriate and timely involvement of legal department and other interfaces (i.e. tax, controlling, Quality Assurance (QA), etc.) during all stages of automation of contract management activities as required. Supports the maintenance and further evolution of electronic document management and contract archival procedures.
