Raw Material Planner - Your future role?


As a Raw Material Planner in Dortmund, you will execute raw material ordering and inventory management processes according to best practices to ensures reliable, high quality, on time dispatch of flavours, intermediates and raw materials with optimal usage of resources by coordinating the orders throughout Dortmund operations and support implementation of LEAN principles throughout the local planning department.

You will report to the Head of Planning.


In this role you will:

Executes daily business in requesting for relevant MRP controllers (incl. MRP management, full order tracking process, constraint and exception management). Resolves any issues that are in her area of capability. If issue cannot be resolved, she takes necessary actions to get support or escalates to get the issue resolved.

Ensures a steady information flow among planning teams (even across sites), other department interfaces (PUR, QC, QM&I, DIS, OTC, RDM etc) and external ones (e.g.

forwarder, if needed).

Analyses and optimizes inventory levels and material master data (parameter setting) in her area of capability in close collaboration with regional supply planning and/or demand planning team.

Identifies slow-/non-mover or other materials at risk and takes necessary actions to avoid or minimize write offs / discards. Uses e.g. SAP SLOB tool to keep track on actions. Follows relevant standard guidelines and policies (e.g. 'STO policy', 'Global best practices - site and supply planning', SOP ́s and OPL ́s, ISO etc) which are published and communicated. Addresses areas where necessary rules / procedures are missing and helps to resolve or implement. Supports achievement of department objectives and KPIs. In case of conflict site objectives and KPIs are of higher importance than department obj. and KPIs.

Supports continuous improvement processes inside the department, but also across interfaces, along the value stream to improve overall performance in safety, quality, service and cost.

Improvement process follows the LEAN philosophy. Executes, coordinates and follows up supplier complaints in her area of responsibility, according to rules defined. Executes and coordinates all actions on outbound STO for relevant MRP contr. Takes into account capacity constraints (e.g. load levelling of goods receipts) during daily business. Ensures execution of relevant WF items and parameter setup or adjustments in MM02 (e.g. new product localizations flows etc). Back-up on similar planning activities. Represents planning team / area of responsibility in dedicated cross-functional meetings or projects.

Ensures as SAP power user for planning that relevant test scenarios are performed, new functionalities are known to the planning team and starts escalation of issues to RPC and SAP site coordination when needed.


Your professional background includes:

Commercial education or comparable Ability to approach supply chain with a total cost perspective Willingness and ability to look "across borders" German (fluent, written and verbal)

English (min. working knowledge, written and verbal) SAP knowledge MS Office (especially:
Excel) Lotus notes Minimum 'White Belt' skills (preferred)
