The Team

Our Global Legal team provides key support for all TikTok's innovative initiatives, state-of-the-art products, and integrated platforms servicing our global video market.

We help our technological and business teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal guidance and support.

The Team

The TikTok team is growing fast and is seeking highly experienced, bright and capable legal professionals to join the team.

The Global Employment Law team provides strategic and practical legal advice to Human Resources and business stakeholders globally, and handles litigation matters involving TikTok in all the regions in which TikTok operates.

This role is for a mid-to-senior level employment lawyer with broad experience advising on employment law matters in Germany and, ideally, other countries within EMEA.

The following describes the responsibilities and requirements for the role.


Responsibilities:


  • Serve as a trusted advisor to HR and business stakeholders in Germany and across EMEA, including advising in relation to works council issues, as well as collective and individual employment rights.
  • Provide daytoday legal advice and strategic support to Human Resources & other stakeholders.
  • Serve as a strong contributor on legal compliance matters relating to employment issues.
  • Support and provide advice on strategic global employment law projects, including collaboration with global employment lawyers and SMEs.
  • Draft and revise employment related agreements and policies, including employment contracts, severance agreements, company policies, and other employment related documents.
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance relating to employment issues for new business lines and markets in EMEA.
  • Manage all aspects of global employment disputes, as needed, including factfinding and analysis, witness and trial preparation and negotiations with opposing legal counsel.
  • Create and lead training on EMEA employment law issues.

Qualifications:


  • German qualified employment lawyer with excellent academic credentials.
  • 6 plus years of employment law experience.
  • Proven ability navigating employment law issues in various regions, including experience with works councils and legal consultation obligations, investigations, global mobility issues, and HR compliance issues.
  • Experience handling employment litigation matters, including retaining and managing outside counsel to ensure that all aspects of the company's legal representation are of the highest quality, and representing multinational companies involved in complex disputes with outstanding outcomes.
  • Demonstrated judgment, personal integrity, and interpersonal skills. Strong ability to work as a team player who can effectively collaborate with colleagues from the Global Legal team and business stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, including exceptional legal writing skills.
  • A team player who is adaptable and willing to pitch in to support colleagues and the growth of the business.
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
