A postdoctoral fellow is wanted for the next possible date at the laboratory of Dr. Mirko Völkers, Internal Medicine III, University Hospital Heidelberg, Germany. The laboratory is located in the Analysezentrum III with a state-of-the art equipment at the heart of the Heidelberg life science campus. We offer an international and highly interactive environment to address projects at the interface of mRNA biology, cell biology, and cardiovascular diseases.

Are you interested in mRNA metabolism and RNAbinding proteins in molecular biology and cardiovascular diseases? We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow (PhD, MD/PhD or equivalent) with a strong interest in translational cardiovascular research. We are a young, international and interdisciplinary team of scientists ranging from biochemists, cell biologists and medical doctors. The University Hospital Heidelberg is based on a modern compact scientific campus and allows high quality research. The relevance of these processes is investigated in cardiac diseases within several research consortia (German Center for Cardiovascular Diseases DZHK, SFB We are excited to welcome highy motivated and talented researchers to our team, who are driven by the desire to test molecular therapies in relevant in vitro and in vivo models.

Your Tasks:

***- Comprehensive phenotypic and high-troughput molecular characterization in in vitro and in vivo model systemswith a broad scale of methods (cellular in vitro assays, omics-based procedures and bioinformatics)

Responsible collaboration and communication with project partners within the DZHK and the CRC1550
Instruction of technical assistants, PhD and MD students
Preperation and presentation of results at international conferences as well as writing scientific publications

Your Profile:

***- We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow with great interest in fundamental molecular biology and cardiovascular diseases

Broad expertise in molecular cardiology in relenvant in vitro models as well as in vivo models
You should be proficient in German and English and have good IT skills
Experience in mRNA related technologies and skills in handling large scale data sets is of advantage
