Research Associate as PostDoc (M/F/d) or PhD student (M/F/d) in the field of bioinformaticscommitted and qualified research associate / postdoc (M/F/d) in applied bioinformatics
to start as soon as possible. The position can also be filled as a PhD position.
Your tasks:
- Implementation of AI approaches for metabolic reconstruction
- Development and benchmarking of methods for multiomics integration (NGS, metabolome, proteome)
- Establishment of pipelines and workflows for processing and analyzing omics data
- Project coordination and cooperation with Beiersdorf AG
- Guidance and collaboration with project team members, consisting of two PostDocs and one laboratory engineer
- Scientific processing and publication of the project results in journals and presentation at conferences
- Guidance and supervision of student assistants and students
Your profile:
- Very good academic degree (Master or Dipl. Univ.) in the field of bioinformatics, computer science, mathematics or data science
- A completed PhD in bioinformatics, computer science, mathematics or data science is an advantage
- The position can also be filled with a PhD student, in which case a very well completed Master's degree in one of the above disciplines is required
- Experience in metabolic reconstruction and bioinformatic analysis of metabolism is an advantage (e.g. COBRA toolbox, Recon models, MTA algorithm)
- Extensive experience in bioinformatic analysis of omics data (e.g. NGS, metabolome and proteome measurement)
- Good programming skills with Python and/or R
- Experience with Linux operating systems
- Mathematical and computer science knowledge in biometrics and biostatistics
- High level of commitment, ability to work in a team and strong communication skills
- Fluent English is required; German language is not required, but is an advantage
- Collaboration in an interdisciplinary project in collaboration with Beiersdorf AG as part of a BMBFfunded project with access to patient samples and biobanks
- Flexible working hours with the option of extensive mobile working
- Highperformance computer server with unlimited access for calculations
- IT administration available
