Research Associate as PostDoc (M/F/d) or PhD student (M/F/d) in the field of bioinformatics

committed and qualified research associate / postdoc (M/F/d) in applied bioinformatics

to start as soon as possible. The position can also be filled as a PhD position.

Your tasks:

Implementation of AI approaches for metabolic reconstruction
Development and benchmarking of methods for multiomics integration (NGS, metabolome, proteome)
Establishment of pipelines and workflows for processing and analyzing omics data
Project coordination and cooperation with Beiersdorf AG
Guidance and collaboration with project team members, consisting of two PostDocs and one laboratory engineer
Scientific processing and publication of the project results in journals and presentation at conferences
Guidance and supervision of student assistants and students

Your profile:

Very good academic degree (Master or Dipl. Univ.) in the field of bioinformatics, computer science, mathematics or data science
A completed PhD in bioinformatics, computer science, mathematics or data science is an advantage
The position can also be filled with a PhD student, in which case a very well completed Master's degree in one of the above disciplines is required
Experience in metabolic reconstruction and bioinformatic analysis of metabolism is an advantage (e.g. COBRA toolbox, Recon models, MTA algorithm)
Extensive experience in bioinformatic analysis of omics data (e.g. NGS, metabolome and proteome measurement)
Good programming skills with Python and/or R
Experience with Linux operating systems
Mathematical and computer science knowledge in biometrics and biostatistics
High level of commitment, ability to work in a team and strong communication skills
Fluent English is required; German language is not required, but is an advantage
