Research Associate as PostDoc (M/F/d) or PhD student (M/F/d) in the field of bioinformatics

committed and qualified research associate / postdoc (M/F/d) in applied bioinformatics

to start as soon as possible. The position can also be filled as a PhD position.


Your tasks:


  • Implementation of AI approaches for metabolic reconstruction
  • Development and benchmarking of methods for multiomics integration (NGS, metabolome, proteome)
  • Establishment of pipelines and workflows for processing and analyzing omics data
  • Project coordination and cooperation with Beiersdorf AG
  • Guidance and collaboration with project team members, consisting of two PostDocs and one laboratory engineer
  • Scientific processing and publication of the project results in journals and presentation at conferences
  • Guidance and supervision of student assistants and students

Your profile:


  • Very good academic degree (Master or Dipl. Univ.) in the field of bioinformatics, computer science, mathematics or data science
  • A completed PhD in bioinformatics, computer science, mathematics or data science is an advantage
  • The position can also be filled with a PhD student, in which case a very well completed Master's degree in one of the above disciplines is required
  • Experience in metabolic reconstruction and bioinformatic analysis of metabolism is an advantage (e.g. COBRA toolbox, Recon models, MTA algorithm)
  • Extensive experience in bioinformatic analysis of omics data (e.g. NGS, metabolome and proteome measurement)
  • Good programming skills with Python and/or R
  • Experience with Linux operating systems
  • Mathematical and computer science knowledge in biometrics and biostatistics
  • High level of commitment, ability to work in a team and strong communication skills
  • Fluent English is required; German language is not required, but is an advantage
