About the job


The purpose of Commercial & Asset Management is to lead optimization of mid and long term value (Revenue, cost, risk, opportunity) of the operating assets in the portfolio as well as the new pipeline projects.

Furthermore, it is to secure optimal supply and support the fact-based decisions and commercial steering by managing and developing a central costing and modelling process, assumption database and associated tools.


Scope of sub-functions:

  • Lead Commercial Management and act as aggregated demand owner of all procurement activities in Generation, also in the preTG5 stages
  • Lead mid and long term value generation based in Strategic Asset Management plan of portfolio and Asset Management Plans on specific assets
  • Lead central OPEX assumption process and development and operations of modelling tools
  • Lead early stage O&M Package and all related contracting scopes (i.e. WTG SWA, Offshore Logistics, etc.)


The Head of Asset & OMA Management reports to Head of Commercial and Asset Management and is the direct manager of all Asset Managers for individual Offshore Windfarms as well as the direct manager for the Head of Asset Management Services.


The Asset & OMA Management team is responsible for maximizing the mid and long term value of Vattenfall's generating offshore wind assets as well as supporting the setup of new offshore windfarms.


You will be the direct manager for 8-10 Asset Manager (individual contributors) and one people managers leading teams (Asset Management Services) of 8-10 individual contributors with overall functional and people responsibility for the full department.


You will be accountable for the team responsible for developing the Strategic Asset Management Plan, the specific optimized Asset Management Plans per Offshore Wind farm, managing the partnership/OM Agreement on operating windfarms and the associated industry leading Asset Management Services such as, but not limited to, availability reporting, partner reporting, industry benchmarking, decom / life time extension decision making, etc.


The Head of Asset & OMA Management will be overseeing all the major decision points for the Generation PSG as a sparring partner to the individual Asset Managers and will personally be a key driver in the quarterly update of the Strategic Asset Management Plan.

The Asset Management discipline is multidisciplinary and it calls for strong appreciation of all the disciplines, such as commercial, operational, technical, HS, environment and public stakeholders, to become a success.

We work across Europe in very different regulatory regimes, so an international mindset will also suit the composition of the team and stakeholders well.


Qualifications should include:

  • Minimum 10 years' leadership experience in the Asset Management world including experience in the operational phase of offshore wind or Oil & Gas
  • A proven trackrecord of negotiating complex commercial contracts (both upstream and downstream), including relevant training and qualifications to support these
  • Experience with technicalcommercial optimisations for asset projects, preferably in the operational phase
  • Under
- and postgraduate university qualifications either from a commercial field with technical professional experience or within a technical field with commercial experience

  • Prior experience managing international teams
  • Experience from a similar role will be viewed favourably
