Job Description:


Shiji is looking for Legal and Privacy Specialist to join our Legal and Privacy Team to assist with a broad range of data protection and privacy compliance.

The role involves advising internal clients on the various data protection related risks, obligations, and other privacy compliance issues.

The Legal and Privacy Specialist will be a member of Legal and Privacy Team and will work closely with Shiji Group's external DPO and serve as the first point of contact for all data privacy and protection issues.

The role requires an innovative, forward-thinking and result-oriented individual with a passion to solve complex privacy complex in a pragmatic way and to translates laws and regulations into actions that enable business objectives.


Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Review and negotiations of various data protection terms and data processing agreements with clients, suppliers, partners.
  • Develop or assist with the development of privacy training materials, increasing employee understanding of privacy, data handling practices and legal obligations, privacy by design in SaaS products.
  • Monitoring the various country or regionspecific privacy and data protection regulations and legislations, analyze compliance requirements and make recommendations as needed, support the implementation of new requirements into technology.
  • Improve and maintain crossborder data transfer legal framework.
  • Interact with IT, Security and business stakeholders to identify data protection related risks and introduce mitigating measures.
  • Support and liaise with Shiji Group's external DPO with all tasks in the area of DPO responsibilities.
  • Maintaining the Register of Processing Activities.

Qualifications:


  • A law degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Legal/Privacy role in multinational company, ideally in tech.
  • IAPP certification (e.g. CIPP/M, CIPP/E).
  • Experience with interpreting and implementing obligations of the data protection legislation and regulations (especially the CCPA and the GDPR), as well understanding of security compliance.
  • Preferred familiarity with One Trust and similar solutions.
  • Knowledge and experience in IT and security when working in Privacy role, including a solid understanding of relevant technologies, such as encryption, hashing, tokenization, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to manage simultaneous projects under deadline pressure.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on broad variety of legal matters and collaboration with various teams and divisions.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a collegial, fastpaced environment.
  • Understanding of IT and SaaS products and practices to protect data during processing activities.
  • Excellent knowledge of English and German.
