Our profile
TU Dortmund University comprises 17 departments in the natural and
engineering sciences as well as the humanities and social sciences and

The Department of Computer Science at TU Dortmund University is one
of the largest in Germany, with particular strengths in research. Among
similar institutions it is distinguished by a combination of fundamental
research on formal methods with the development of practical

  • Physical Systems and Software and Service Engineering.

Profile of the professorship
You represent the area of safe autonomous systems (e.g. autonomous
mobile robots, embodied AI, simulationbased AI or autonomous
systems in smart logistics und smart production) in research and
further develop this at a top international level. In doing so, you
participate in research networks and cooperations within and outside
TU Dortmund University (e.g. Lamarr Institute, Research Center
Trustworthy Data Science and Security, Fraunhofer IML and KION
GROUP AG) and are committed to promoting early career researchers.
In teaching, you participate appropriately in the teaching activities of
the department.


Your qualifications
You obtained a doctorate with above-average success and acquired a
post-doctoral lecture qualification _(Habilitation)_ or an equivalent
qualification. You demonstrated your research excellence in the field
covered by the professorship through continuous international
publications in recognized peer-reviewed venues and were successful
in the independent acquisition of competitively awarded third-party
funds. Beyond this, the international visibility of your research is
expected. Additionally, you have the potential for teaching excellence
and are willing to teach courses in German perspectively. Social and
leadership skills and the willingness to participate in academic self
- administration complete your profile. Moreover, the recruitment
requirements in Sections 36 and 37 of the North Rhine-Westphalia
Higher Education Act _(Gesetz über die Hochschulen des Landes _
