We are looking for a
Senior Data Scientist - Supply Chain Domain, in Quick Commerce Operations (to join our team to help us create a state-of-the-art demand planning and supply chain optimization solutions to improve SKU availability in our dmarts and get the best item from the right supplier at the right time at the right price to the right dmart.

You will join the Supply Chain Data Science squad, an experienced team with a mix of science and engineering skills that has been developing data science solutions for the supply chain domain.

Together, we will optimize the customer experience across more than 10 million orders per day, delivering solutions at scale.

Projects range from designing and analyzing experiments to understand supply and demand, forecast demand and how to ensure maximum availability while taking into account forecast inaccuracies and supplier reliability.

Develop simulation environments to test different scenarios of supply chain including different safety stock models, parent child relationships among dmarts and Distribution centers etc.

We pride ourselves on our ability to connect research and theory to practical problems, and to bring our solutions to production systems.

While the squad is supported by an amazing squad of ML Engineers who build reusable tooling, we believe in end-to-end solution development and hence it is highly recommended to have or eager to learn data/ml engineering skills.

Your mission:

Understanding the supply chain domain and how it fits into Quick Commerce.
Conceptualize the right modeling approach for challenges in the field of Supply Chain at scale together with your squad lead and our stakeholders, using cuttingedge research to inform your decisions.
Build solutions endtoend from inception to productiongrade systems including research & prototyping, gathering data requirements, crossteam alignment, product development, experimentation, deployment and monitoring.
Provide ideas in brainstorming sessions with your Data Science colleagues to solve the toughest modeling problems together. Pitching new ideas and improvement proposals to nontechnical stakeholders.
Help to define data needs to further improve existing projects, to support data engineering and tech teams in planning their roadmap.
Work with (semi)structured data from our BigQuery DWH architecture and process with Spark where necessary.
Contribute and make an impact in a global, fastmoving tech organization.

Your heroic skills:

Interested in solving largescale realworld data science challenges in the supply chain and quickcommerce industry. Prior experience in these industries is a plus.
Experienced with a range of modeling techniques including experimental design and AB testing, optimization techniques, and time series forecasting, so if you have experience or a desire to learn and contribute in one of these areas, we would love to hear from you
You have experience in deploying and maintaining solutions in productions at scale i.e. end to end development and deployment.
You can write maintainable code that follows best practices in software engineering.
Have a strong sense of responsibility and desire to run software for millions of users: we build it, we run it.
You have an eye for detail. Before starting to work on a usecase, you carefully challenge existing assumptions and care about clean data.
You are a strong communicator and can explain the intuition behind your modeling approach to people with different backgrounds.
Fluent in Python, and familiar with a range of scientific and statistical libraries. Other languages are a bonus
Experienced with a range of software engineering tools including Git, Docker, cloud technologies (GCP/AWS), Kubernetes and Airflow.
You love to learn, are a critical thinker and creative problem solver who strives for excellence.
You are a team player who loves to collaborate and work with stakeholders from different tech teams in a diverse environment.
Fluent in English.
