Role Purpose:
Play an active role in implementing the medium to long term view on sustainability of Sibelco Europe in the country.
Responsibilities:
1) Implementing and coordinating environmental and strategic permitting (compliance, rehabilitation, minimize environmental impact, biodiversity,)- Monitoring and coordinating the environmental, permitting and rehabilitation processes on local level to ensure full compliance with legislation and minimize the environmental impact of our activities.
- 2) Asset and land management Monitoring and coordinating independently the land and asset management on local level, in accordance with local sustainability manager. Actively working with the European land and asset management platform to keep all information updated Implement policies, guidelines and strategies from Corporate Sustainability 3) Proactive stakeholder management Implementing proactive engagement with local communities and key stakeholders (politicians, governments, administrations, NGOs,) Offering coaching and guidance to local operations Help safeguard Sibelco's reputation in the eyes of our stakeholders and communities under supervision of the Sustainability Manager Minimizing the environmental impact on the community Implement policies, guidelines and strategies from Corporate Sustainability 4)
External communication and representation:
all under supervision and guidance of the Sustainability Manager- Coordinating and managing local processes on external communication and representation concerning the responsibilities of sustainability.
Working together with other functional domains on local level to ensure Sibelco's reputation is safeguarded- About you:
- Minimum 5 years work experience in a specialist position
- Experience in cross functional teamwork
- Experience in working with governments and administrations
- Experience in the domains of : sustainability, real estate, legal affairs, permitting,
- Strong interest in sustainability topics or experience in related areas
- Affinity for mining
- Conversant with environmental and planning legislation, regulation, permitting, biodiversity, managing of land/assets,
- Conversant with negotiations with/influencing communities, NGOs,
- Project management experience
