Job Description:

The Senior Sales Managers and Aftermarket leads activities supporting the annual business plan by achieving the company's financial and business objectives for revenue, profit, cash conversion, quality, and customer satisfaction through the sales of the John Crane product line portfolio, service contracts and management of sales & service machining and repair centers.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead activities for the division to enable the implementation of the annual plan, with focus on growth business measured by revenue, market share and profit
  • Prepare the annual business plan and budget for the division with specific objectives for revenue, profit, customer service, employee engagement, EHS & security.
Manage staff to achieve annual objectives and to achieve the business plan

  • Direct and manage the team to grow revenue by securing new business in new markets and expanding business with existing clients
  • Leads the preparation of the annual capital expense plan for Sales and Service across the division to achieve Capex objectives within budget
  • Create an organizational culture and work environment that attracts, retains, and motivates a skilled work force
  • Make recommendations for changing the organizational structure and business systems to support the business as it grows and take a lead role in managing approved changes
  • Coordinate sales activity to direct sales resources to achieve monthly targets for the regions and company
  • Hold regional leaders accountable for ensuring consistency of standards among all sales, commercial & service center teams

The Individual

  • Report monthly results and forecasts, explain variances, and plans to grow positive variances and to reduce and eliminate negative variances. Report assessment of business risks and plans to mitigate risks
  • Ensures the sales and service function remains current regarding industry, product, competitor, and market knowledge
  • Ensure relationships with customers are managed and the company is professionally represented
  • Ensures sales and service teams are partnering with engineering and operations to assist with customer and delivery problems
  • Monitors and controls expenses and keeps the sales, commercial and service functions within levels of approved budgets
  • Leads efforts to ensure a safe work environment and culture to meet or exceed EHS goals
  • Ensure the protection of company intellectual property and all other assets
  • Ensure compliance with the Company code of ethics and reporting requirements
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures for ethics and corporate governance, and all national and international laws and regulations.
  • Complete all work in a safe manner and follow all safety requirements consistent with supporting the Company's goals
  • Follow all environmental requirements consistent with supporting the company's environmental performance goals
  • Complete, and actively participate in all other EHS training requirements
  • 15+ years' experience leading global sales and service functions, preferably in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • 10 years business operational experience with P/L responsibility, preferred
  • 10 years' experience managing a sales force, preferred
  • 10 years' experience managing a multisite business, preferred
  • Advanced Sales skills and key account management skills
