The Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Faculty of Natural Sciences III, Institute of Geosciences and

for a period of 30 months:
Research Assistant (M/F/d)

as part-time employment (75 %).

The salary will be up to pay group 13 TV-L (according to the collective wage agreement of the German federal

states), if the personal requirements and tasks are fulfilled.


Work tasks:

  • Conducting a case study in the DFGfunded research project "Open geospatial data at the intersection of
digital commoning, digital humanitarianism, and digital capitalism: Transformations and tensions in Open

  • StreetMap", which investigates the transformations and tensions in the field of open geodata, digital com
- )

  • Conducting field research (in the Philippines), data collection, analyses
  • Collaboration with local and international project partners
  • Publication of project results
The opportunity to obtain your own academic qualification as part of a doctorate is given.


Prerequisites:

  • Completed academic university degree (Master/Diploma) in human/cultural social geography or related
fields

  • Very good academic achievements and degrees to date
  • Excellent verbal communication and academic writing skills
  • Critical and independent thinking, ability to work independently in academic research
  • Proven knowledge of empirical (qualitative) social science or human geography research methods (e.g. suc
- cessfully completed methods seminars or methods lectures, project seminars or similar)

  • Willingness to conduct independent field research
