The position is in the Competence Center »Emerging Technologies« and is available at the earliest opportunity. The Competence Center deals with the identification, evaluation and design of new technology developments and socio-technical transformations.


What you will do

  • You will present your research results in international publications, at conferences and scientific congresses as well as in research reports.
  • You will have the opportunity to contribute and further advance your own research ideas.
  • After a certain period of time, you will be responsible for project acquisition and management.

What you bring to the table

  • You have already successfully obtained a university degree (German diploma or Master) in economics or social sciences. A completed PhD in one of these fields is desirable.
  • You are interested in technical contexts as well as social issues.
  • You have a good general grasp of research on the data and platform economy, and are also interested in current IT topics such as artificial intelligence, data custodian models, blockchain or cybersecurity and network policy issues.
  • You are interested in working on interdisciplinary issues at the intersection of technology, business and politics and very willing to work together with others in interdisciplinary cooperation.
  • Ideally, you already have experience in working on scientific questions at the intersection of technology, business and politics and in managing projects.
  • You have very good language skills in German and English, and are able to present your work results in a convincing manner, both in writing and orally.
  • You are very interested in interdisciplinary questions and are able to work both independently and as part of a team.
