Beschreibung

The Max Planck Institute for Physics is a research institute focusing on particle and astroparticle physics from both an experimental and a theoretical perspective.

One main research activity is the participation in the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN.

The ATLAS collaboration investigates the consistency of the Standard Model with very high precision, and also extends the search for physics beyond the Standard Model to unprecedented accelerator energies.

The hardware engagement of our Inner Detector Group focuses on providing components for the new ATLAS Inner Tracker (ITk) to be operated during the high luminosity phase of the LHC

Our main contributions are:
the assembly and test of silicon pixel modules and the production of components for the CO2 cooling system. The data analysis program pursued concentrates on high-precision measurements of the top-quark mass and their combination.

Salary and benefits are according to the German public service pay scale (TVöD Bund). The contract is initially limited to three years with the possibility of extension.
