your role with us:


  • Your role is to assist the academic work on empirical macroeconomics conducted by our Research Centre staff; first and foremost, this will involve working with survey data provided by households, firms and professional forecasters (e.g. Survey on German households' expectations (BOP-HH), Survey of Professional Forecasters (ECB SPF, Fed SPF), Consensus Economics) and with extensive micro datasets.
  • As a member of an international team, you will be involved in economic research that helps the Bundesbank gain important insights.
  • You will have access to an excellent IT environment and firstclass data resources and will work with leading international researchers.

your skills and qualifications:


  • A master's degree or equivalent qualification in a degree programme with a quantitative focus (e.g. economics or statistics) with above-average results; ideally, enrolled in or pursuing a PhD programme in economics or statistics
  • Working towards a specialisation in empirical macroeconomics
  • Knowledge of dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) models an advantage
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Very good command of written and spoken English; a grounding in German would be an advantage
