Full Professorship W3 (f/m/d) in Neuromorphic Computing Architectures
to be filled at earliest convenience. This is a tenured W3 position for senior scientists with a strong and proven track record.


This professorship will be part of the core competence
Emerging Computing at ZITI, which is concerned with unconventional solutions to demanding computing problems and covers research, development, and programming of specialized computer hardware (analog and digital), firmware, and hardware-efficient software.

The successful applicant is expected to have a strong track record in neuromorphic computing architectures based on analog hardware.

Further areas of interest include mixed analog-digital hardware design, HW/SW integration for neuromorphic processors, as well as fundamental circuit design and microelectronics.

Additional ties within ZITI can be established with the core competence areas _Microelectronics and Robotics, Biomechanics & Medical Technology_.

Further collaboration opportunities at Heidelberg University are offered by the physics-based information processing activities of the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy, the cluster of excellence STRUCTURES, the Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Computing (IWR), and the Institute for Molecular Systems Engineering and Advanced Materials (IMSEAM).


The successful applicant will contribute to the Master program _Computer Engineering_ (Faculty of Engineering Sciences) as well as the Bachelor program _Computer Science_ (Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science).


The appointment requires a university degree and (in accordance with Article 47, paragraph 2 of the Higher Education Law of the state of Baden-Württemberg) a Habilitation, a successfully evaluated junior professorship or equivalent qualifications.
