Eurofins Agro has a branch in Jena, Germany and Ipswich, UK for which we are looking for a business controller.

Job Description:

As Business Controller you are involved in the annual budget and periodic management reporting. You are establishing optimal conditions for business operations, relying on (financial) knowledge, cooperation with colleagues, and accurate analyses.

In your role as a Business Controller, you take on the challenge of going into the details if needed, be a driving force for improvement of the business in a result-oriented organization and revealing yourself as a sparring partner for the management.

You are the first point of contact, for finance related topics, for the Managing Director of Eurofins Agro in Germany and in the UK.

You translate strategic objectives into clear KPIs and you make a translation of these KPIs for the various Business Units and teams.

You prepare financial reports and perform business and strategic scenario analyzes for our products and investments, among other things.

You are also responsible for:

Supporting and monitoring budgeting processes and monthly reporting.
Supporting the management team with regard to the financial KPIs.
Analyzing and reporting any deviations from the budget (forecasting).
The total spend of the branch and timely signaling of deviations.
Optimizing net working capital.
Maintaining contacts with the business and other controllers.
Initiating improvement initiatives.

You report directly to the Managing Director of Agro Testing Germany, with a dotted line to the Finance Director Agro.

Your place of employment is Hamburg, Germany, with a willingness to travel.

Qualifications:

Master's degree with at least 2 years of experience in a similar position.
Education in the direction of Finance, Economics or Accounting & Control.
A proactive attitude, structured work, and analytical skills.
Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Used to working in corporate organizations.
Good command of the English and Germany language.
Willingness to travel to international locations (the UK and the Netherlands).
Knowledge of Cognos and Excel is a plus.
