The position offers the opportunity for hybrid working, with office presence in Hanover as required.

Fluent German and English language skills (written and spoken) are mandatory for this role.


As Director IP Legal, Domains & Licenses, you will be responsible for the TUI Group's IP portfolio and domain management and serve as a first rate legal and strategic advisor with business acumen for the entire Group.

In this role you will report directly into the Group Director Legal, Compliance & Board Office / Member of the Group Executive Committee.


ABOUT THE JOB
Professional, disciplinary and cost-responsible management of the "IP Legal, Domains & Licences" division with the departments "IP Legal" and "Domain/SSL Management & Online Brand Protection"
Legal and strategic advice, in all areas of intellectual property (IP) at national, European and international level
Legal representation and conduct of opposition and nullity proceedings as well as trade mark and design registration proceedings before national, European and international authorities
Contract drafting and negotiation of IP-related contracts (e.g. licence agreements, purchase agreements, coexistence agreements etc.)
Management of IP portfolios, in particular trademarks and business signs, as well as domain-, design
- and copyrights
Management of domains and SSL-certificates
Development of protective right strategies of IP rights, online brand protection and monitoring of infringements of license agreements

ABOUT YOU
Substantial relevant experience (5 years upwards) gained in an area relevant to the role in an international company of comparable size (if not within TUI)
Law degree, 1st and 2nd state exams, IP specialist or comparable qualification (e.g. patent attorney)
Detailed knowledge and experience in IP law, in particular in national, EU and international registration, opposition and arbitration proceedings for trademarks, domains and designs
Fluency in German and English (oral and written) is mandatory
Strong conceptual and analytical thinking skills
Ability to think and act in an entrepreneurial manner and an understanding of complex interrelationships
Knowledge of IP databases and software
Persuasiveness and assertiveness as well as forward-thinking with openness and drive for innovation, change and efficiency
