Job Summary/Purpose:


Leader who influences, leads, and manages all data science activities and applies scientific /technical expertise and leadership to address complex biosimilar technical development issues/topics, actively drive the Technical Development unit data science strategies by leading cross-functional teams and scientific initiatives.


Your Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to

  • Actively lead, initiate, and direct crossfunctional data science teams, networks and /or platforms; understand and meet customer needs and ensure all data science team activities are aligned with overall biosimilar development processes.
  • Be directly accountable for the effective use of data science resources within own team or for an activity. Drive and own budget and resource forecast, grant preparation; ensure cost awareness in all assigned projects and/or networks.
  • Lead data science risk analyses and/or peer review and process challenge meetings.
  • Have comprehensive knowledge in data science and modelling techniques including machine learning and artificial intelligence
  • Supervise and lead project related scientific/technical activities; perform complex tasks without having established procedures. Critically review, approve or challenge results or conclusions of other scientists.
  • Report and present scientific/technical work at internal/external meetings /conferences and publish in peer reviewed international scientific journals including patents.
  • Ensure quality of international registration documents. Interact with authorities where appropriate.
  • Initiate, lead and influence new data science programs. Address complex R&D issues across line functions and within own discipline. Evaluate and implement new scientific and data science technologies.
  • Develop, mentor and coach other team members within and/or across the global line unit. Act as a mentor, coach, and trusted goto person for associates, helping them grow to their potential.

Minimum requirements

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Bsc/MSc/PhD in a Natural Science or Technical Discipline w/ 10+ yrs experience. 5+yrs experience in Pharmaceutical/generics industry, ideally with Biosimilars
  • Recognized data science expertise with broad scientific as well as strategic background.
  • Thorough understanding of development processes in Biosimilar technical development and of development activities in some functions external to Technical Development
  • Excellent ability to lead interdisciplinary and crosscultural teams
  • Excellent track record of innovation, creativity, problem solving and productivity in projects and proven key contributions to development projects, marketed products and strategic activities.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant GLP, GMP regulations and policies.
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills as well as advanced coaching and mentoring skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
